Sportsmen around the nation are becoming more familiar with animal extremists, other radical elements, and even our so-called “friends” working to cancel our way of life forever. Even Texas isn’t safe. The only way we will be able to slow them down is by being more actively involved and engaged in the process of protecting our values, rights, and heritage at every level.
Texas sportsmen will have the opportunity to do just that. The Parks & Wildlife Commission is holding a two-day meeting with a public comment opportunity starting tomorrow, Wednesday, March 26, at 9 a.m. in the commission hearing room of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, located at 4200 Smith School Road, Austin. You can also join virtually or by phone.
Wednesday, March 26 consists of the work session. The agenda will cover various subjects and issues important to hunters and anglers, including proposed changes on digital licensing and tagging requirements, 2025-26 Statewide Recreational & Commercial Fishing, and 2025-26 Statewide Hunting & Migratory Game Bird Proclamation. These items will be receiving “action” the following day, Thursday, March 27, at the commission meeting. Public testimony will be taken on the items labeled “action” during the commission meeting.
Appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Texas Senate, the nine-member Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopts policies and rules to carry out all programs of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Commission must hear from us, the sportsmen, if we want to protect our heritage. If we don’t, you can guarantee that the animal extremists will fill the void. They are already in other states cratering our hunting, fishing, and trapping traditions from the inside out. We cannot let that happen in the Lone Star State.
Do not forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen and gun owners. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in standing up to fight, protect, and defend against the rising tide of animal and gun control extremism. The extremists work tirelessly to crater our rights, values and heritage and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today, tomorrow, and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
