Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, at King’s Pointe Resort located at 1520 East Lakeshore Dr. in Storm Lake, in meeting room A, the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) will meet to discuss and vote on a long list of sportsmen-related issues. Public participation begins at approximately at 10 a.m. and the commission meeting will begin at 2 p.m.
If you cannot attend in-person, you can join by teleconference or video conference
The commission consent agenda is long and several of these items will be voted on. Some of the items to be discussed and voted on relate to game management areas, wildlife refuges, hunting related to migratory bird, small animals, and wild turkey, deer population management, wild furbearer trapping and hunting, as well as several other items.
The NRC consists of seven citizens who provide policy oversight concerning Iowa’s natural resource protection and enhancement efforts, including reviewing and approving the state’s hunting and fishing administrative rules.
The Department of Natural Resources and the commission must hear from us, the sportsmen, if we want to protect our lifestyle and heritage. If we don’t, you can guarantee that the animal extremists will fill the void. They are already cratering our hunting, fishing, and trapping traditions from the inside out in other states. We cannot let that happen in the Hawkeye State.
Share this alert with your family and friends and encourage them to attend this and future commission meetings in-person or virtual. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in standing up to fight, protect, and defend against the relentless attacks from animal extremists. The extremists are working tirelessly to crater our rights, values and heritage and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today, tomorrow, and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
