Earlier this week, HB 1003, a bill that includes a dangerous provision to eliminate the Natural Resources Commission (NRC), passed the House. The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
Monitoring the Progress of HB 1003
We are closely monitoring this bill. Keep an eye on your inbox: we will email you when your next action is needed.
The Threat to Hunting and Fishing Rights
As previously reported, if the NRC is not removed from this egregious bill, the body that ensures our hunting and fishing rights are managed transparently and with public input will cease to exist.
Ending Oversight and Public Transparency
Remember, without the NRC, management decisions for our state parks and fish and wildlife will be moved “behind closed doors.” Removing the NRC’s layer of oversight undermines fairness and erodes trust between the state and us, the people who fund conservation.
