As we have been reporting, animal “welfare” organizations have focused efforts to limit, restrict, or downright prohibit the use of sporting dogs in hunting activities. This includes the overregulation of hobby breeders, many of whom are sporting dog enthusiasts who strive to improve bloodlines through selective breeding programs.
Texas sportsmen need to continue the pressure on their state Representatives urging them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 876, a bill and its companion, House Bill 2238. We cannot let Texas become a state with one of the most excessive breeder licensing schemes in the country. Continue the email pressure to your state Representative urging him/her to OPPOSE SB 876 and HB 2238. Remind them Texas is for sportsmen and we protect our law-abiding breeders.
SB 876 expands the dog breeder licensing ensnaring sporting dog enthusiasts across the state instead of working to reduce animal abuse like the animal rights extremists are trying to make you believe. Animal abuse is not an issue that the Sportsmen’s Alliance takes lightly, and Texas already has laws on the books regarding the abuse of animals.
Please use our Take Action button to again remind your Representative that law-abiding sporting dog breeders need just as much protection as the dogs they raise and the law-abiding deserve their support by OPPOSING SB 876 and HB 2238.
Texans must remain dedicated to their hunting heritage which includes the sporting dogs that are with us every step of the way.
