As spring arrives, the Trailblazer Adventure Program is ramping up for another great season as events are kicking off in full force. The program, launched by U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation in 2001, is designed to introduce youth and their families to an outdoor lifestyle.
Kicking off the spring Trailblazer season is the first American Heritage Girls (AHG) event in Florida. Scheduled for this Saturday, March 29, at the Black Saddle Stables in Land O’ Lakes, the event is being hosted by AHG Troop FL 0912 and is open to the public.
Attendees will have the chance to participate in target shooting, archery, fishing, and firearm safety demonstrations—all staples of the Trailblazer Adventure Program. In addition, turkey calling and wild boar hunting demonstrations will be available to participants.
Another highlight will be the opportunity to discuss alligator hunting with Phil Walters of Gatorguides.com. Phil will have a live alligator on display.
“This event is a great way to kick off the 2014 Trailblazer Adventure Program season,” said Keilee Guthrie, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance associate director of education. “We’re proud to be hosting this event with the American Heritage Girls. This is the perfect opportunity for youth and adults alike to experience outdoor activities and live demonstrations.”
