Immediate Calls Needed!
The Nebraska Legislature has placed LB 671—which would ban mountain lion hunting—on the final vote calendar. A final vote is expected to take place this week.
“Nebraska hunters must call their state senators today in opposition to this bill,” said Tony Celebrezze, USSA’s director of state services. “Sportsmen cannot sit by and allow anti-hunting politics to manage the state’s wildlife population.”
Just a year and a half ago the legislature created a limited mountain lion hunting season in the state. Nebraska is a unicameral (one chamber) legislature, meaning each bill must be voted on three times by the full Senate. LB 671 has already been voted on twice. If it garners 33 yes votes, the bill will head to the Governor’s desk.
Take Action! Nebraska sportsmen call your senator today! Tell them to oppose LB 671 and not let anti-hunting politics manage the states wildlife populations. To find your Senator’s contact information visit the USSA Legislative Action Center.
