Donations Needed to Defeat California Bill

On April 24, 2012, California’s Senate Natural Resources Committee voted to pass SB 1221, which would ban hunting bears and bobcats with hounds.  Sportsmen groups were hoping to keep the bill from going to the full Senate.   This means that the campaign to defeat this attack on sportsmen will last a lot longer, and be much more expensive.

USSA will fight SB 1221 to the end, but we need your help.  Your donation will make it possible to continue our education efforts to California sportsmen, media and ultimately elected officials why banning bear hunting is unjustified, and really about the next step in the anti-hunting agenda to take another hunting right away.  Click here to make a donation today.

Even if you don’t live in California, keep this quote in mind when making your decision:

“We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States … We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state.” Wayne Pacelle, Senior VP Humane Society of the US (HSUS), formerly of Fund for Animals, Full Cry Magazine, October 1, 1990.

Wayne Pacelle is now the CEO of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), which is leading the charge to pass SB 1221.  Defeating this bill in California helps to protect hunting across America.
