Free Sportsmen’s Alliance Heritage Fishing Day Event in Booneville, Arkansas!

On April 27, the Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation will conduct a free fishing education program for youth and adults who have little or no outdoor experience, and are interested in learning how to fish. Programming will take place at Camp Cahinnio (460 Cahinnio Rd, Booneville, AR 72927) from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This Heritage Fishing Program uses a learn-to-fish curriculum that will take participants from the classroom, to the water, to the table.

The Heritage Fishing Program is offered to participants free of charge. This is made possible through the generous assistance of our volunteers, business partners and individual donors.

Want to help someone Learn to Fish? Here is how you can get them started:

  • Help us recruit participants. Send this to a friend or relative who might not fish, but has an interest in starting. Encourage them to sign up.
  • Contact us to volunteer as an instructor – (Frank Price: fprice@sportsmensalliance.org or 614-888-4868). We need volunteers to teach participants how to cast, tie knots, handle fish and how to clean and prepare a catch.
  • Make a donation to help us underwrite this program – DONATE HERE!

The Heritage Fishing Program will offer free fishing lessons on how casting, knot tying, fish handling and how to clean, prepare and cook your fish.

Again, this program is free to all participants – all educational materials, fishing equipment, bait and tackle will be provided. Participants will not be required to have license or permit during this event only. This course is designed and intended for participants with little or no fishing experience. Youth must be accompanied by an adult. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or physical ability, all are encouraged to participate.

For additional information or questions please contact Frank Price, Director of Education, at fprice@sportsmensalliance.org or 614-888-4868.
