Yesterday, March 24, the contempt that animal-extremist and gun-control legislators showed toward sportsmen and gun owners was remarkable when the House passed the amended version of SB25-003 by a vote of 36-28. All the Republicans and seven Democrats voted in opposition to the state firearm registry bill. This freedom-cratering bill will now go back to the Senate to vote on whether to accept the House amended version.

If SB25-003 was actually about reducing violent crime and saving lives, then persecuting criminals would be at the heart of this bill. Instead, it is only about extremists taking small steps towards decimating our values and lifestyle.
As previously reported, SB25-003 is detrimental because it is a backdoor scheme to knowing who owns a firearm in Colorado by requiring a permit-to-purchase a firearm. This bill requires Coloradoans to apply for a permit-to-purchase before purchasing a semiautomatic rifle, shotgun, or pistol with a detachable magazine, with a small list of exemptions. Don’t forget sportsmen and gun owners, the extremists have you paying for the state firearm registry by way of a fee with no minimum or maximum listed in the bill. We do know that the fee may be adjusted annually and is collected by the instructor of your basic or extended firearms safety course to be remitted to the Fish & Wildlife Division for deposit into the newly created Firearms Training and Safety Course Cash Fund.
