- Hunting dogs are working partners, not just pets. Idaho is pushing back against other states and federal overreach that seeks to reclassify our dogs and restrict our ability to hunt, test, and trial.
- States’ rights matter. While animal extremists try to sneak anti-hunting language into “must-pass” agriculture legislation or try to get people to vote on misleading ballot initiatives banning hunting, Idaho is proactively passing vital protections for our sporting traditions.
- Idaho is the first to hold the line. While other states have passed similar laws in the past, Idaho is the first to act in direct response to the massive 2026 escalation of attacks on our sporting heritage. S 1241 provides the modern blueprint for how states must preemptively shield their citizens and hunting partners from the “incremental bans” in Oregon’s IP 28 and the anti-hunting language being snuck into the Federal Farm Bill.
