Earlier this week, the Arizona House Committee on Land, Agriculture & Rural Affairs recommended a “Do Pass” on important legislation protecting our right to use dogs/hounds for hunting. The next hearing date has not been scheduled for HB 2552. Keep an eye on your inbox for our alert to inform you of this information and the action that will be needed.
House Bill 2552 allows a person to take small game, predatory animals and fur-bearing animals with the aid of dogs at all times during which the taking of such wildlife is authorized by the Arizona Fish & Game Commission. A person may also take bear or mountain lion with the aid of dogs during an open season for bear and mountain lion.
As previously reported, animal extremists are continually trying to stop the use of dogs and hounds for hunting and the Grand Canyon State is no stranger to that fact. That is why HB 2552 is important; it protects the continued use of hunting dogs doing what they were born and bred to do. We each must make a commitment to ourselves and future generations to stand up and fight, protect, and defend against the rising tide of animal extremism. Share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Urge them to join the fight with you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance. The extremists work tirelessly to crater our rights, values, and heritage and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today, tomorrow, and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
