Monday, Feb. 27, and Tuesday, Feb. 28, were crossover day for the Indiana House and Senate in the legislature. Crossover means that if a bill did not pass out of its house of origin, then it is essentially defeated for the year.
Indiana’s 2023 has been quiet for sportsmen, but here are a few bills of interest.
SB 184 allows a Department of Natural Resources licensing agent to charge an additional $0.25 processing fee and a 1.96% fee to cover credit card processing costs associated with purchasing a license.
HB 1150 provides that the Director of the Department of Natural Resources shall designate four days a year as free hunting days for critically disabled veterans and youth hunters.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance will continue to monitor the legislative session and alert our members and supporters on matters of interest. Please take a moment to check out our legislative map to see all the bills the Sportsmen’s Alliance are monitoring in Indiana and around the nation.
