Last week, the Illinois 2024 spring legislative session adjourned. This year, there were several sportsmen-related bills introduced. Few rose to the level of needing action and one pro-sportsmen bill passed both houses and will be sent to Governor J. B. Pritzker for consideration.
Please use our Take Action button to email Governor Pritzker asking him to sign SB 2767 into law. This important legislation will give youth, women and new hunters more options to enjoy the outdoors and turkey hunting with reduced recoil and lighter-weight shotguns.
SB 2767 expands the use of shotguns during turkey season to include 28 gauge and .410 bore models.
Even though the 2024 legislative session is over, the Government Affairs Team will continue to monitor activities in the Prairie State as you never know when issues that sportsmen need to be aware of may arise.
On our interactive map, you can view the bills we monitored during the legislative session. Don’t forget to share this alert and future alerts with your family and friends, as sportsmen throughout the state must continue to stay actively involved in defending our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
