The Louisiana House of Representatives unanimously passed House Bill 718 that gives nonresident veterans who enlisted or were discharged while stationed in Louisiana, resident fees on hunting and fishing licenses. The legislation also reduces the cost of a hunting and fishing combination license for resident veterans to $20. Once passed, Louisiana will join 40 other states that offer resident license rates for nonresident veterans.
“This legislation is a terrific way to give back to our servicemen and women who give so much. This legislation will reduce the financial burden for veterans who want to enjoy our great outdoors,” said Dillon Barto, manager of state services at the Sportsmen’s Alliance.
