LWFC Meeting Announcement: Public Comment Opportunity
On Tuesday, January 6, at 9:30 a.m., the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission will hold a meeting with a public comment opportunity at the department headquarters located at 2000 Quail Drive in Baton Rouge or via webinar with public comment capability via Zoom’s Q&A feature.
Proposed 2026-28 Hunting Seasons and Fishing Regulations
This meeting will cover various subjects and issues important to hunters, including a notice of intent to establish season dates and associated rules and regulations for the 2026-28 hunting seasons, and to promulgate a rule establishing on-the-water fillet length limits for spotted seatrout and red drum.
Why Your Voice Matters for Louisiana’s Heritage
The commission must hear from us – the sportsmen – because the future of our hunting and fishing traditions depends on it. These vital resources are entrusted to the commission’s care, and if we remain silent, others will shape the outcome. Animal-rights extremists are ready to fill that void and dismantle the heritage we hold dear. We cannot allow that to happen in Louisiana. Our voices matter—let’s make sure they’re heard.
Join the Sportsmen’s Alliance in Protecting Our Rights
There has never been a more crucial time in sportsmen’s history than now to be involved and engaged in protecting our way of life. Share this email with your family and friends. Urge them to join the fight with you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance. The extremists work tirelessly to erode our rights, values, and heritage, and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
