House Bill 683, companion bill to Senate Bill 91, the youth apprentice hunting license bill is scheduled to be heard in the House Environment and Transportation Committee tomorrow, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. in room 251.
Currently, Maryland hunting regulations only allow an apprentice hunting license to be issued once in a person’s lifetime. House Bill 683 allows the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to issue a second or subsequent apprentice hunting license to individuals under the age of 17 who have previously been issued an apprentice hunting license. This is a positive move to allow for the continued recruitment and retention of young hunters into the fold.
