The Nevada Legislative Commission approved a coyote hunting contest season earlier this week. This 7-to-5 vote ends a decade-plus-long battle of kicking the can down the road.
Last month, the Nevada Department of Wildlife Commission approved a regulation for the state’s wildlife officials to establish a policy and set regulations for a coyote hunting contest season. This approval was sent to the Legislative Commission, a 12-member panel of state Senators and Assemblymembers that approves regulations when the full legislature is not in session.
Season Dates and Licensing Requirements
The season runs from September 1 to March 31, and participants must hold a trapping or hunting license.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance thanks the Wildlife Commission and Legislative Commission for supporting its sportsmen and women.
