On Monday, Dec. 5, Senate Democrats in the Budget Committee passed both S3214/A4769 by a party-line vote of 8-4, despite heavy pushback from law-abiding gun owners throughout the state. Thank you to Senators Declan O’Scanlon, Steven Oroho, Mike Testa and Samuel Thompson for speaking out against S3214 before submitting their “no” votes.
As previously reported, S3214/A4769 is not a public safety bill as touted by supporters, so do not be fooled that these measures have anything to do with violent crime. These bills affect ALL gun owners, including law-abiding sportsmen by making several changes to the Firearm Purchaser Identification Card (FPIC), which is required to purchase any firearm, including a rifle or a shotgun for hunting.
S3214/A4769 are both scheduled to be heard on the Senate floor Monday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. in the Senate Chambers. It is imperative that you use the TAKE ACTION button below to email your state senator today and make your voices heard on these measures. Don’t forget to ask your family, friends and fellow sportsmen to do the same.
