Legislation to ban the use of traditional lead ammunition for hunting on all state-owned lands is back for the 2023 legislative session as Assembly Bill 2084. A 2084 has already passed the Assembly Environmental Conservation Committee. It is now scheduled to be heard tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m. in room 630 LOB, in the Assembly Codes Committee.
“Let’s be clear, due to increased costs, lack of available alternatives, and reduced effectiveness, this legislation is about canceling hunters, not protecting the environment,” said Todd Adkins, Sportsmen’s Alliance vice president of government affairs. “They will stop at nothing to eliminate hunting, and protecting the environment is political eyewash to that end.”
