House Bill 564, the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, was supposed to be heard on April 20 in the House Banking Committee. That hearing was postponed and has been rescheduled for tomorrow, April 27, at 10 a.m. in room 1228/1327 LB.
As we previously reported, gun-control extremists are using every possible avenue to disarm law-abiding sportsmen and gun owners, including how to uncover personal identifying information on who owns firearms in America. The newest tactic is to track credit card purchases of firearms and ammunition.
HB 564, the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, prohibits financial institutions from using a firearms code in connection with a payment card transaction involving a firearms retailer located in the state and prohibits financial institutions from knowingly maintaining a record of individuals residing in the state who own a firearm(s).
