Ohio voters will determine the future tomorrow, August 8, when they go to the ballot box to vote Yes or No on Issue 1.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance has alerted on Issue 1 many times here, here and here over the past month, reminding citizens how a Yes vote is necessary to protect the future of our cherished outdoor traditions.
Ohio sportsmen have a simple choice: Do we want to protect the outdoors against animal-extremist groups or are we going to simply wait for the anti-hunters to bring a ballot initiative to change our way of life forever by amending the Constitution?
Hunters, anglers and trappers in other states tell us the same story, wishing they had acted when they had time to stop the extremists in their tracks. We’ve watched dozens of ballot initiatives be proposed in other states. Hunt bans, gun bans and everything in between. We have the opportunity to stop this nonsense here in Ohio, and we should take it.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance believes this is a clear choice. Sportsmen must turn out and vote YES on Issue 1 to protect the future. This isn’t about redistricting or a “power grab,” this is about whether the Ohio Constitution can be bought by extremist anti-hunting and anti-gun interests whenever they decide to spend their billions to attack our cherished traditions.
Many estimate that winning a ballot fight on hunting, trapping or firearms in Ohio will cost upwards of $8-10 million. And what if anti-hunting extremists come after us one year to ban hunting and then a gun ban is put on the ballot the next year, and the next? While the extremist crowd has billions at their disposal, this isn’t the case for sportsmen. We can’t wait and see how things go. That is a recipe for disaster.
Let’s show the extremists that Ohio is not for sale on Election Day and send them packing. Let’s all do our part by voting YES on Issue 1 while getting everyone we know to do the same. The future is not down the road, it’s right now. Protect our cherished traditions by voting YES on Issue 1.
Do not forget to share this important message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen urging them to Support heritage, Support Issue 1.
