Did you know that John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela and other iconic figures are fluent in elephant, lion, owl, and orangutan? Of course they aren’t and weren’t, but that doesn’t stop PETA from making it seem so!
A recent video produced by PETA and entitled “Hear Their Voices” has taken footage of numerous iconic figures and replaced their voices with animal calls. The message they are attempting to sell: “these great visionaries spoke out about freedom for everyone. All animals want to be free.”
Figures such as Gandhi and John Lennon now don voices of tropical birds and hooting owls, while John F. Kennedy trumpets like an elephant to a crowd of thousands of people.
PETA’s attempt to equate the struggles of the visionaries who fought for the rights of freedom, peace, and equality for mankind – to those of animals – is not only offensive to those individuals, but also to those they were fighting for.
With six leading individuals in PETA’s video present, we would like to pat PETA on the back for not only being successful in disrespecting and degrading these great visionaries of our time but literally putting words…or should we say animal calls…into their mouths.
