As previously reported, the Kentucky Senate passed Senate Bill 3 earlier this month, a bill to pull fish and wildlife under the Commissioner of Agriculture, a move opposed by every major sportsman and conservation organization as nothing more than a political power grab.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance has now learned of a plan to amend another bill with the power grab language because opposition to SB 3 has grown so substantially over the past week.
Sportsmen in Kentucky must make their voices heard loud and clear and oppose any deal to amend the SB 3 language into a house bill so they can bait and switch the issue on everyone who cares about the health and abundance of fish and wildlife in Kentucky.
Please use the Take Action button to email your state Representative again, reminding them that the management and welfare of Kentucky’s fish and wildlife is not a political toy. They must oppose any language, in any bill, that puts fish and wildlife under the Commissioner of Agriculture and/or gives to the Commissioner of Agriculture any power over the nomination process for fish and wildlife.
Do not forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. The Bluegrass State needs all its sportsmen and -women contacting their state Representatives TODAY.
