Over the past several years, Idaho’s neighboring state, Washington, has had a game commission overrun with commissioners not working on behalf of the state’s fish, wildlife and sportsmen. Last week, the Sportsmen’s Alliance, with irrefutable evidence of corruption and bad practices, petition the governor to remove four game commissioners.
What happens in one state often has a way making its way to others. There has never been a more important time in our history than now to protect our way of life. The only way we can slow extremists down is by being more actively involved and engaged in the process of protecting our values, rights, and heritage at every level.
Idaho sportsmen will have the opportunity to do just that. The Fish & Game Commission will hold a public meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at Upper Snake Regional Office located at 4279 Commerce Circle in Idaho Falls. All testimony will be taken into consideration when the commission makes decisions on agenda items at the meetings.
On Thursday, May 22, at 8 a.m., also located at the Upper Snake Regional Office, the commission will hold its business meeting to discuss and make final decisions on several sportsmen-related issues, including non-resident tag draw framework and issuance, shooting range funding, mountain lion tags, mountain goat management plan, and more.
If you are unable to attend in-person, use the button below for video conference information.
The seven member Board of Commissioners is charged with supervising the Department of Fish and Game; establishing regulations and other needed controls on fishing, hunting, trapping and management of wildlife in line with the state’s wildlife policy; approving department budgets for submission to the legislature; holding public hearings, and making decisions on the management of the state’s wildlife.
The commissioners must hear from us, the sportsmen, if we want to protect our lifestyle and heritage. If we don’t, you can guarantee that the animal extremists will fill the void, as they have already done in Washington. We cannot let that happen in the Gem State.
Don’t forget to share this meeting alert with your family and friends and encourage them to attend this and future commission meetings in-person or virtual. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in standing up to fight, protect, and defend against the relentless attacks from animal extremists.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
