The South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Commission will meet on Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11, to discuss several issues important to sportsmen. This meeting will take place at NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center, 800 Archery Lane, in Yankton. Thursday’s meeting is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. CST and Friday’s meeting is from 8 a.m. to noon CST. You can also participate via phone or Zoom.
The commission agenda includes a petition regarding the use of hounds to harvest mountain lions during bobcat season, the finalization of the Custer State Park Antelope Season, a proposal for a mountain lion hunting season, the state wildlife action plan, and a list of other vital issues.
Commissioners need to know sportsmen are engaged, because when we are not, it makes it easier for animal extremists and other radical elements to fill the void. That is why there has never been a more critical time than now for South Dakota sportsmen to be engaged in the process. We are the only ones who can promote and protect our values, rights, and heritage. Sportsmen cannot let what is happening in Washington and Colorado happen in the Mount Rushmore State.
Don’t forget to share this meeting alert with your family and friends and encourage them to attend this and future commission meetings in-person or virtual. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in standing up to fight, protect, and defend against the relentless attacks from animal extremists.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
