Call your U.S. Senators TODAY to STOP the Public Land Grab!
Despite being told by the U.S. Senate Parliamentarian that his plan to sell off millions of acres of public land would be struck from the budget reconciliation process, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) is doubling down with new “proposals” to jam through and keep his scheme alive.
Sportsmen and women throughout the nation need to respond and voice their opposition to this land grab by calling their U.S. Senators and saying “NO!” on any and all proposals to transfer federal public lands of any type in the budget bill.
In recent days, Senator Lee has told the public he is “listening” to the concerns of sportsmen, but what is now clear is that Senator Lee is asking us to negotiate against ourselves about which brand of poison to drink. Budget reconciliation, at this point known as “the big beautiful bill,” is not the time or place for scheming about how to sell off public lands. There are existing processes to do that, and Senator Lee knows this.
Let’s be clear. What sportsmen and women want is zero acres of public land sold off as a result of backroom deals done during budget reconciliation. Zero means zero. Anything more than zero will be remembered as an “F” come election time. Senator Lee and others may call this “unreasonable” until the cows come home, but what IS unreasonable is trying to jam through a major policy shift on public lands during budget reconciliation.
And don’t fall for all this nonsense about how “new language” will solve the problem. Even though you may have heard or seen public comments by Senator Lee and others that he was “working on the fix” and “listening,” what the Sportsmen’s Alliance and others have been saying for weeks hasn’t changed one iota. This is not the way to do this. Stop trying to tell us what a “better” version of this poison is. There is no good version of poison, period.
Because the stakes are so high, every sportsman needs to take a few minutes TODAY and call their U.S. Senators and say “NO.” There are two ways to get this done. Call the switchboard at the U.S. Capital and tell them you want to be connected to your senators.
(202) 224-3121
If the switchboard is jammed up and you can’t get through, use our “Contact your Officials” button to fill in your address to find your U.S. Senators contact information directly.
Be kind to the person who answers the phone. It won’t be your U.S. Senator. It will be a staff person who has likely been hammered on this already but let them know you ARE a constituent of the Senator and will be watching. Be clear about what you are asking for. Zero acres, no language on any public land sales whatsoever. God speed everyone, we must make our voices heard!
Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen and urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in the fight to protect us, the sportsmen, and our lands and values.
