The members of the Senate Agricultural and Natural Resources Subcommittee are scheduled to hear Senate Bill 456 and they need to know sportsmen are opposed to this injustice.
Innocent until proven guilty is a cornerstone of the American justice system, but SB 456 is an affront to this basic protection. SB 456 requires a citizen to prepay the cost of care of their seized animal throughout the trial process. If you are unable to prepay the cost of care, you automatically forfeit ownership of your animal. To add insult to injury, SB 456 does not provide a refund if the charges are dropped, or if you are found not guilty, with only a refund due of the remaining funds you were ordered to prepay.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. in room 408 of the Gressette building, the Senate Agricultural and Natural Resources Subcommittee is scheduled to hear this egregious bill. Please use our take action button to email the members of the subcommittee urging them to OPPOSE SB 456.
Do not forget to share this message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen and urge them to contact the subcommittee members to oppose SB 456. Ask them to also join the Sportsmen’s Alliance, so they will can receive alerts and information critical to hunters, anglers, and trappers in Palmetto State and on the federal level.
