Colorado’s gun-control majority is making it clear that you, sportsmen and gun owners, are the problem to the state’s gun violence. We are sure they will deny that, but how is that possible when they are ramming through legislation to strip and restrict you from exercising your rights and lifestyle?
Criminals will not be applying for a permit-to-purchase as required in SB25-003 nor will HB25-1133 stop 18-to 20-year-old criminals from finding ammunition. These bills have reached the floor in the House and Senate and could be heard as early as tomorrow, Thursday, March 20. Make sure you use both Take Action buttons to ensure the Governor and your state Representative and Senator receives your email urging them to vote “No” on bills.
As previously reported, SB25-003 is detrimental because it is a backdoor scheme to knowing who owns a firearm in Colorado through requiring a permit-to-purchase a firearm. This bill requires Coloradoans to apply for a permit-to-purchase before purchasing a semi-automatic rifle, shotgun, or pistol with a detachable magazine, with a small list of exemptions. Wondering who is going to pay for the registry? You are by way of a fee with no minimum or maximum listed in the bill. We do know that the fee may be adjusted annually and collected by the instructor of your basic or extended firearms safety course to be remitted to the Parks and Wildlife Department for deposit into the newly created Firearms Training and Safety Course Cash Fund.
