According to yesterday’s House Journal, House Bill 2238, one of the excessive breeder regulations bills, will be scheduled for its House floor vote at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, May 10. It is IMPERATIVE that sportsmen email their state Representatives NOW urging him/her to OPPOSE HB 2238. We cannot let Texas become a state with one of the most excessive breeder licensing schemes in the country.
As we have been reporting, animal “welfare” organizations have focused efforts to limit, restrict, or downright prohibit the use of sporting dogs in hunting activities. This includes the overregulation of hobby breeders, many of whom are sporting dog enthusiasts who strive to improve bloodlines through selective breeding programs.
HB 2238 expands the dog breeder licensing ensnaring sporting dog enthusiasts across the state instead of working to reduce animal abuse like the animal rights extremists are trying to make you believe. Animal abuse is not an issue that the Sportsmen’s Alliance takes lightly, and Texas already has laws on the books regarding the abuse of animals.
Texans must remain dedicated to their hunting heritage which includes the sporting dogs that are with us every step of the way.
