Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 26, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission is meeting to finalize regulations that will directly impact your time in the field.
Proposed 2026-2027 Hunting and Migratory Bird Changes
The Commission is set to vote on the 2026-2027 Statewide Hunting and Migratory Game Bird Proclamation. This includes critical changes to season dates, bag limits, and the proposed restructuring of the South Zone dove season. Additionally, they are considering massive land acquisitions, over 2,900 acres in Stephens and Parker Counties, and new residency requirements for licensing.
If we aren’t at the table, someone else will be, and they likely won’t have our interests in mind.

Why Your Participation Matters
The Bottom Line:
Decisions are made by those who show up. We need the Commission to see that Texas sportsmen and women are engaged, informed, and protective of our outdoor heritage.
Your presence is the only way to safeguard our outdoor traditions. The legacy of hunting, fishing, and trapping in the Lone Star State depends entirely on our actions today. We are the sole guardians of this heritage, and there has never been a more crucial time to stay engaged.
Take 30 seconds right now to forward this email to your family, friends, and fellow hunting and fishing buddies. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in the fight to protect our way of life against the rising tide of extremism.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing, and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler, and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square, and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
