With the end of the 2024 legislative session just around the corner, anti-sportsmen legislators are pushing forward with what legislation they have left alive.
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, executive session was held in the Senate Law and Justice Committee. The committee voted and passed two bills, as previously reported, that do nothing to reduce gun violence and only affect law-abiding sportsmen. These bills could be heard on the Senate Floor at any time.
House Bill 1903 further victimizes law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen holding us liable for theft of our property by penalizing us for failing to report a missing or stolen firearm within 24 hours.
House Bill 2118 has been dubbed the “FFL Killer” and mandates additional costly requirements for licensed firearms dealers (FFLs) to continue to operate their businesses. This bill will put small- and medium-sized FFLs out of business.
Please use our Take Action button to email your state Senator urging him to OPPOSE HB 1903 and HB 2118.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Feb. 21, the House Civil Rights and Judiciary Committee also voted and passed SB 5985 during executive session. This bill can now be voted on by the full House any day.
Senate Bill 5985 places the unconstitutional provisions of the recent ban on commonly owned firearms into the section of the state code on background checks.
Please use our Take Action button to email your state Representative urging him to OPPOSE SB 5985. Please make sure you use BOTH Take Action buttons to ensure your state Senator and Representative receive your email opposing the respective bill(s) before them.
Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen asking them to also use both Take Action buttons to email their state Senator and Representative urging them to OPPOSE SB 5985, HB 1903, and HB 2118.
