Last Friday, Feb. 24, the Senate Ways & Means Committee passed Senate Bill 5078, a bill that creates a special cause of action for individual victims to sue firearms manufacturers for the violent acts of third parties. SB 5078 will now move to the Senate floor for consideration. The Sportsmen’s Alliance will continue to monitor this bill and we will let you know when action is needed next.
HB 5078 works to cripple the firearm industry by instituting new policies and procedures that will make it nearly impossible to engage in the lawful sale and/or trade of firearms in the state.
