Last week, the Washington House concurred with the Senate amendments to egregious House Bill 1163, the permit-to-purchase/firearm registration bill. The day before the 2025 legislative adjournment, a conference committee added the funding required for HB 1163 to ESSB 5167. Both bills have been sent to Governor Ferguson for consideration.
Use the Take Action button to email the Governor urging him to VETO HB 1163 and the required funding for it in SB 5167.
Forcing the law-abiding, because only the law-abiding will follow the law, to apply for and be approved for a permit-to-purchase will do nothing to reduce violent crime.
As previously reported, House Bill 1163, requires Washingtonians to pay outrageous fees, apply for and be approved for a permit-to-purchase before purchasing or transferring a firearm.
ESSB 5167 includes the funding required for HB 1163.
