As previously reported, if animal rights extremists have their way, finding a reputable breeder and a good dog of your choosing will become obsolete.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, at 2:00 p.m. in hearing room 301-303 of the State House, the House Environment and Agriculture Committee has scheduled a public hearing on House Bill 1680, a companion bill to Senate Bill 541, heard on January 4. Like SB 541, HB 1680 will limit your choice of a breeder and your choice on your next hunting and sporting best friend in New Hampshire.
House Bill 1680 will redefine retail pet stores to include anyone with a physical facility who “transfers” more than thirty (30) dogs per year at retail. HB 1680 does not stop there. The bill also caps these newly redefined “retail pet stores” to “transferring” the number of dogs at the same number “transferred” in 2023, requires future “retail pet stores” to source dogs from only animal shelters, and prohibits the sale of the “retail pet stores” to only family members.
Animal rights activists also want to dictate your choice of your next best friend by limiting the availability of hunting and sporting dogs you are allowed to choose from to what is available in an animal shelter. We cannot let that happen!
Please use our Take Action button below to email the members of the committee urging them to OPPOSE HB 1680 when it comes before them for a vote. Let them know HB 1680 does not resolve the puppy mill problem and only adds restrictions, limitations, and hardships for those of us looking to choose our next best friend.
Don’t forget to share this alert with your family, friends, fellow sportsmen, and fellow dog enthusiasts and ask them to also take action working to OPPOSE HB 1680.
