Firearm Insurance Bill Hearing & Possible Vote Tomorrow, December 10
Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10, at 10 a.m. in Hearing Room 116, the Ohio House Insurance Committee will hold its fourth hearing and possible vote on Senate Bill 58. This important legislation prohibits a person from being required to purchase firearms insurance or paying a fee to possess a firearm, firearm components, ammunition, or a knife.
There are only a few days left of the 2024 legislative session and the committee needs to hear that sportsmen SUPPORT SB 58. Please use our Take Action button to email the committee members and urge them to vote “Yes” on SB 58. Criminals do not purchase firearm insurance, and law-abiding sportsmen and gun owners should not be held accountable for the criminal misuse of a firearm by others.
SB 58 prohibits any license, permission, restriction, delay, or process, including by any ordinance, rule, regulation, resolution, practice, or other action or any threat of citation, prosecution, or other legal process from requiring an individual to possess firearm liability insurance or pay a fee for the possession of a firearm, parts, components, ammunition, or a knife.
As previously reported, gun control advocates have been pushing for sportsmen and gun owners to carry firearms insurance. This tactic is nothing more than an attempt to punish us, the law-abiding, for owning a lawful product and making us pay for the criminal acts of others.
Don’t forget to share this message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen and urge them to email the committee.
