The pre-fiscal session budget hearings started on March 6, with pre-filing of appropriations bills beginning on March 11.
Today, April 10, the General Assembly convened for its 30-day 2024 Fiscal Legislative Session.
This means that if the General Assembly is to take up any bills outside the scope of the budget, it must first have a 2/3 vote in both chambers for a resolution describing the bill. The deadline for those resolutions is by the end of today.
Even though this is a fiscal session, we will monitor it to ensure sportsmen’s rights continue to be protected in Arkansas. Most importantly, when we alert you to something that requires action on your part, reach out to your friends and family to let them know what’s going on and how they can help, too. As always, check out www.sportsmensalliance.org and urge your friends and family to sign up for the regular updates and action items.
Sportsmen throughout the Natural State must stay actively involved in defending our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy. Working together, we cannot lose!
