The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is hosting three public meetings in July and August to gather input on hunting deer with dogs. It is vital for our community to attend these meetings to ensure state officials hear from active hunters, not just anti-hunting individuals and groups.
The Department has already received a wide range of thoughts, including concerns, conflicts, and complaints from hunters, landowners and other members of the public regarding deer hunting with dogs.
Make no mistake: anti-hunting groups view these meetings as their golden opportunity to ban deer hunting with dogs in South Carolina. They are actively organizing to pack these rooms, control the microphone, and pressure the state to strip away your heritage. If we remain silent, they win by default. We cannot allow anti-sportsmen activists to dictate the future of our traditions.
