On Tuesday, June 6, the Alabama 2023 legislation session adjourned sine die. This means the legislative session is completed.
This year, the legislative session was quiet for sportsmen with only a handful of sportsmen-related bills introduced. One pro-sportsmen-related bill, Senate Bill 261 did make it to Governor Kay Ivey’s desk, which she promptly signed into law.
SB 261 prohibits the state from entering into a public contract with companies that boycott businesses that engage in, facilitate, or support the manufacture, import, distribution, marketing or advertising, sale, or lawful use of firearms, ammunition, or component parts and accessories of firearms or ammunition.
Even though the 2023 legislative session is over, the Sportsmen’s Alliance will continue to monitor activities in the Yellowhammer State as you never know when issues that sportsmen need to be aware of may arise.

Please share this message with your family and friends as sportsmen throughout Alabama must continue to stay actively involved to defend our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
