On March 3, House Bill 1168 passed out of the House with strong bipartisan support. This legislation gives local schools the ability to provide a hunter education course to seventh graders and as an elective class to any other grade. The bill is now pending before the Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and is scheduled for a first hearing on March 17.
“There is nothing more important than the education of future generations. This is a terrific step to ensure our proud traditions will continue,” said Dillon Barto, manager of state services at the Sportsmen’s Alliance.
