Colorado: Credit Card Purchase Bill Passes Committee

On Thursday, Feb. 8, the Senate Business, Labor, & Technology Committee passed Senate Bill 24-066, a bill to track the credit card purchases of law-abiding sportsmen, on a party-line vote of 5 to 2.

As previously reported, SB24-066 requires a merchant acquirer or a payment card network to track the purchases of firearms and ammunition with a new merchant category code (MCC).

The bill will now head to the Committee of the Whole (COW) for further debate.  Please keep an eye on your inbox, as we will continue to monitor SB24-066 and alert you when the next call to action is needed.
