This morning, March 7, the Kentucky Senate Veterans, Military Affairs, & Public Protection Committee passed House Bill 357, important legislation protecting the credit card purchase privacy of its sportsmen. HB 357 will now be sent to the Senate floor for consideration.
HB 357 prohibits a financial institution or its agent from requiring or incentivizing the use of a firearms merchant category code (MCC) and prohibits any person, governmental or private entity from knowingly or willfully keeping any list, record, or registry of privately owned firearms or any list, record or registry of the owners of those firearms created or maintained through the use of a firearms code.
Please use the Take Action button to email your state Senator urging him/her to vote “Yes” on HB 357.
As previously reported, big credit card companies are moving forward to comply with California’s new law to track the credit card purchases of their sportsmen. Therefore, it is now more important than ever for Kentucky to protect the privacy of its sportsmen’s credit card purchases.
Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Ask them to use the Take Action button and email their state Senator urging them to vote “Yes” on HB 357.
