KDWP Commission Meeting: Thursday, January 8
On Thursday, January 8, at noon, the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission will hold a meeting with a public comment opportunity at the Territory Ballroom, 119 W. Main Street in Council Grove or via Zoom.
Agenda: Elk Permits and 2026-27 Waterfowl Season
This meeting will cover various subjects and issues important to hunters, including a vote on the elk season, bag limit, and permits, and a general discussion on the 2026-27 waterfowl season, bag and possession limits.
The Importance of Public Comment
The commission must hear from us – the sportsmen – because the future of our hunting and fishing traditions depends on it. These vital resources are entrusted to the commission’s care, and if we remain silent, others will shape the outcome. Animal-rights extremists are ready to fill that void and dismantle the heritage we hold dear. We cannot allow that to happen in the Sunflower State. Our voices matter—let’s make sure they’re heard.
Protect Our Way of Life
There has never been a more crucial time in sportsmen’s history than now to be involved and engaged in protecting our way of life. Share this email with your family and friends. Urge them to join the fight with you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance. The extremists work tirelessly to erode our rights, values, and heritage, and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
