On Tuesday, May 7, Louisiana Senate Bill 194, a bill to clarify and strengthen the state’s firearm preemption law, was sent to Governor Jeff Landry for consideration.
This important bill prohibits a governing authority of a political subdivision from enacting, or enforcing any ordinance, order, regulation, policy, procedure, rule, or any other form of executive or legislative action more restrictive than state law concerning in any way the manufacture, sale, purchase, possession, carrying, storage, ownership, taxation, transfer, transportation, license, or registration of firearms, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition, firearms accessories, knives, edged weapons, or any combination thereof.
Please use the Action button to email the Governor and ask him to sign “Yes” on SB 194 into law.

This law is vital as it prevents unsuspecting sportsmen and gun owners from becoming criminals when crossing unknown jurisdiction lines. Sportsmen should not have to worry about breaking the law to own and legally use a firearm for hunting, shooting, or self-defense.
Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, fellow sportsmen, and gun owners. Ask them to contact the Governor and ask him to sign SB 194 into law. Sportsmen of the Pelican State must continue to stay actively involved in defending our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
