On Monday, March 13, at 3 p.m., in room 404 in Sumner Hall, the House Judiciary Subcommittee, is scheduled to hear a bill to return Florida’s age to purchase or transfer a firearm back to 18.
House Bill 1543 lowers the minimum age to purchase a shotgun or rifle to 18. This is an important recognition that law-abiding citizens, including those who are 18-20, should not have their freedom restricted when they want to hunt, shoot recreationally or defend themselves.
