A gun-control advocate’s only answer gun violence is to add more gun control to restrict the law-abiding. Why? Because passing bills that slowly but surely strip the firearms freedom of law-abiding sportsmen is the key, at least from their perspective.
Criminals do not purchase their firearms from federally licensed firearm dealers (FFL), yet gun-control fanatics argue that measures like Colorado’s House Bill 24-1353 will protect the public, but this is all eyewash, because their real goal is to wipe firearm dealers from the map completely.
HB 24-1353 creates a duplicative state permitting system for federally regulated firearm license holders. It also adds additional conditions and requirements for dealers, random inspections, and severe penalties for violations. Federal Firearm Licensed (FFL) dealers are already required to be licensed by the federal government and are highly regulated.
HB 24-1353 has been scheduled to be heard at 1:30 p.m. by the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee on Thursday, March 28. Please use our Take Action button to email the committee members and urge them to vote “No” on HB 24-1353. Colorado needs meaningful laws to reduce violent crime. Not laws purposely targeted to reduce lawful firearm ownership altogether.
Yesterday, Senate Bill 24-066, the bill to track sportsmen’s credit card purchases, passed the Senate by a vote of 22 to 11. It has been assigned to the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee.
SB24-066 allows credit companies and payment processors to use merchant category codes (MCC) to track credit card purchases of firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition.
While it has not been placed on the committee schedule yet, you can use the same Take Action button to urge the committee members to vote “No” on SB 24-066 when it comes before them.
