Today, at 2 p.m., via video conference, the House Finance Committee is scheduled to hear Senate Bill 682, the bill to ban the sale of fur in Hawaii. Unfortunately, we expect SB 682 to pass the finance committee. The bill will then be sent to the House floor for consideration. Sportsmen need to email their state Representative today urging them to OPPOSE SB 682. Please use our Take Action button below to ensure your state Representative receives your opposition request.
As previously reported, animal-rights extremists want you to think banning the sale of fur is about protecting animals. SB 682 is really about dictating what you can wear or use in the Aloha State.
Last week, House Bill 426, a bill to cripple the firearm industry, passed its last committee referral and is now headed to the Senate floor for consideration. Please use our Take Action button to email your state Senator urging them to OPPOSE HB 426. Please make sure you use BOTH Take Action buttons to ensure your state Senator and Representative receive your respective OPPOSITION emails.
House Bill 426 authorizes the Attorney General, any county attorney or public prosecutor, and others to sue firearms manufacturers for the violent acts of third parties. HB 426 will only cripple the firearm industry by instituting new policies and procedures that will make it nearly impossible to engage in the lawful sale and/or trade of firearms in the state. This is bad policy motivated by those who simply want to destroy the sporting community because they know that if the industry cannot engage in lawful commerce, hunters and sport shooters cannot hunt and shoot.
