Last week, the 2023 Idaho Legislative Session adjourned sine die. This means the legislative session is completed. The following bills have been signed into law by Gov. Brad Little and will take effect on July 1, 2023.
House Bill 143 adds a three-day fur buyers license for non-resident fur buyers.
House Bill 144 adds a lifetime license for resident trappers in Idaho.
House Bill 190 ensures that banks and credit unions, designated by the Idaho State Treasurer as depositories for public monies, do not boycott industries important to the state and the livelihood of our citizens.
House Bill 191 restricts the state from using environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in evaluating contract bids. ESG criteria have become an additional standard financial institutions and companies have started using when making decisions to work with other companies, businesses, organizations, etc. Issues identified under ESG criteria can relate to the preservation of our environment, consideration of humans and what a business supports.
House Bill 295 prohibits credit card companies from assigning unique merchant card codes to firearms retailers that sell weapons and ammunition.
