Yesterday, April 10, the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee unanimously voted “Ought Not To Pass (ONTP)” on Legislative Document 1068, essentially defeating the bill for the year.
As previously reported, Legislative Document 1068 was legislation that would have banned hunting in an enclosure. BUT if you read closely, it would have impacts far beyond the language of the bill.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance thanks the committee for standing up for Maine’s sportsmen and not falling for the vague language used by animal-rights extremists to shut down hunting in the Pine Tree State. Thank you to the our members and supporters who contacted the committee asking them to oppose LD 1068.
