The mistreatment of animals is a serious subject and the Sportsmen’s Alliance does not tolerate animal cruelty. Unfortunately, animal-rights extremists use the “animal cruelty” tag with everything, including when hunters and other sportsmen use dogs for hunting, trialing and training. One of their favorite attacks is to suggest that tethering a dog, for any and all reasons, is animal cruelty. This is just plain nonsense, but again, all under the guise of preventing “animal cruelty.” Don’t fall for their misguided tactics, they want to end all hunting with dogs and will use whatever trick at their disposal to do so.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 4, at 3:30 p.m., the Senate Natural Resources Committee is scheduled to hear Senate Bill 269 that will amend existing law to prohibit the tethering of dogs for all hunting and training activities. Under current law, such activities are exempt, but none of the remaining exemptions will apply to these sporting activities if the bill passes. As always, the animal extremists simply want to end the use of dogs while hunting and in the sporting community.
Please use our take action to email the members of the committee urging them to support responsible dog owners by OPPOSING SB 269.
Don’t forget to share this message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen urging them to also email the committee to OPPOSE SB 269.
