Last week, two bills of serious concern to sportsmen passed their respective House and Senate Committees.
Assembly Bill 355 passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee and heads to the Assembly floor for consideration. AB 355 prohibits those under 21 from handling or possessing a semiautomatic rifle or shotgun (even while hunting).
As previously reported, current Nevada law allows exemptions for anyone over 14 handling rifles and shotguns in certain circumstances like hunting, but AB 355 strips this away and will ban many of the most common rifles and shotguns without promoting public safety in any meaningful way.
Please use our Take Action button below to email your state Assemblymember urging them to support Nevada’s sportsmen by OPPOSING AB 355.
Senate Bill 269 passed the Senate Natural Resources Committee and is headed to the Senate floor for consideration.
As previously reported, the Sportsmen’s Alliance does not tolerate animal cruelty. Unfortunately, animal-rights extremists use the “animal cruelty” tag with everything, including when hunters and other sportsmen utilize dogs for hunting, trialing, and training.
SB 269 amends existing law to prohibit the tethering of dogs for all hunting and training activities. Under current law, such activities are exempt, but none of the remaining exemptions will apply to these sporting activities if SB 269 passes. As always, the animal extremists simply want to end the use of dogs while hunting and in the sporting community.
Please use our Take Action button below to email your state Senator urging him/her to OPPOSE SB 269. Please make sure you use BOTH Take Action buttons to ensure your opposition to AB 355 and SB 269 is received by the respective Assemblymember and Senator.
Don’t forget to share this message with your family, friends and fellow sportsmen, and urge them to email their Assemblymember and Senator to support sportsmen by OPPOSING AB 355 and SB 269.
